Mane said in statements published by the site Bayern Munich Official: “I have decided to choose 17 of the available Bayern Munich shirt numbers and I want to celebrate a lot of success with my team and this number.”

“Now I’m really looking forward to being able to start pre-season with my new teammates soon,” he added.
The number 17 was previously worn at Bayern Munich by Jerome Boateng, former captain Mark van Bommel, Christian Zeig and Torsten Fink.
