The Atletico Tigre striker, on loan from Boca Juniors, was born in Argentina, but according to his father, he has an Italian passport due to his grandfather’s Sicilian ancestry.
Mancini had announced earlier this week that he would summon the current top scorer in the Argentine league (6 goals) due to the absence of injured Lazio striker Ciro Immobile.
The list, which Mancini revealed today of 30 players, included two other new faces, Lecce goalkeeper Vladimiro Falconi and Torino defender Alessandro Bonjorno.
