London: 24 academic staff of the Department of Sociology at the University of Manchester have demanded that Britain end its joint programs with Israeli universities. The employees also told UK authorities to withdraw from cooperation with companies established in areas where Israeli defenses have been imposed.

The staff also pointed out that they were witnesses to the Israeli government carrying out genocide and massacres in Palestine with the help and weapons of the British government.

The Israeli bombardment of Gaza, detention of children without trial, deportation of Palestinians, brutalization, humiliation, torture, mass murder, and 75 years of Israeli occupation are appalling, the staff said.

24 academic staff also called for the UK to end its exchange agreement with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. International media reported that the agreement also helps Havatsalo, Israel’s military intelligence training program, and conducts constant surveillance on Palestinians living in East Jerusalem.

Staff also called on the University of Manchester to end funding for joint research with Tel Aviv University in weapons and surveillance technologies research and development and military strategy.

The media reported that the staff also called for the University of Manchester to be divested from HSBC Siemens, Israeli arms and military technologies, and all companies investing in Israeli annual discrimination.

Also, the employees demanded that cooperation with Israel’s defense sector Graphene Engineering and Innovation Center, GKN Aerospace and Heydale be stopped.
