Former Manchester United captain Antonio Valencia believes it is only a matter of time before the current side get up to speed under the expert guidance of Erik ten Hag.
The Reds are taking a new approach after the summer’s transfer market moves, as the boss looks to build on a very promising first season in charge.
It was a mixed start to the 2023/24 season before the international break, with wins against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest, but defeats against Tottenham and Arsenal, both north London clubs.
With the highly respected Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford this Saturday, the Ecuadorian is certain United will soon start to climb the table and put pressure on the Premier League’s early leaders.

“The new players who have just arrived are adapting and acclimatizing to a new system. Sometimes it can be complicated. For some players it is more difficult, but I hope they can adapt as quickly as possible for the good of the team.”
“There is a lot of competition, but I am confident that the team will respond well because we have a lot of great players. They have already shown it in the past. So I don’t think there are any problems. I hope we can win the Premier League this year and not lose too much ground to Manchester City or other clubs at the top of the table.”
“We have to play as equals with everyone and try to gain an advantage.”
United are back in the UEFA Champions League, of course, and begin their European campaign with a tough test next week at Bayern Munich. Ten Hag’s men are in Group A, with Galatasaray and FC Copenhagen the other contenders, and Valencia believe it is imperative for the Reds to reach the last 16.
