The English Football Association (FA) has launched an investigation into the match between Manchester United and Leeds United, the English professional footballers’ soccer team, which sparked violence by spectators once morest players, the BBC reported.
The Premier League (EPL) match between the home team Leeds and Manchester United (Man Utd 4-2 win) held at Elland Road, Leeds, England, on the 20th was held in an atmosphere of ‘chaos’ due to excited spectators.
In the end, young Manchester United striker Anthony Elanga was hit in the head by a flying object from the crowd at home, and it is known that the object tossed by the crowd was a coin.
Fortunately, Elanga was not seriously injured.
It was the same with Manchester United fans who didn’t follow the rules.
70 Manchester United fans appeared on the pitch without tickets and were disbanded by police.
West Yorkshire police arrested nine people on charges of breaking public order and throwing objects.
The Leeds team started their own investigation and decided to ban the stadium for the rest of their lives in search of fans who threw objects to the ground by analyzing CCTV footage.
In the midst of this, as the FA investigated, the Leeds club might not avoid disciplinary action.
During the first six months of the EPL season this season, a total of 750 criminal cases took place in England’s first to fifth divisions, and regarding 800 people were arrested, the BBC reported, which is the highest level ever.
