Capitals – A report in the British newspaper “Telegraph” confirmed, Monday, that the departure of Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo from the ranks of Manchester United, will be next January, and that team coach Eric Ten Hag will not stand in the way of “Don”.
Eric Ten Hag kept Ronaldo in reserve in Manchester United’s last match once morest Manchester City, which ended in a 3-6 defeat of the “Red Devils” on Sunday.
According to the British newspaper, the United coach does not mind the departure of Ronaldo, 37, in the winter transfer market, if his club receives an acceptable offer.
Ronaldo’s start in the Premier League this season was disappointing, as his team lost to Brentford by four clean, and has not played since then only 80 minutes in the competition.
And the “Telegraph” indicated that sources from within Manchester United confirmed Ronald’s continued desire to leave, but the latter would like to have an opportunity to play more with the “Red Devils”, before participating with Portugal in the next World Cup hosted by Qatar.
Ronaldo is one of eight top players, including David de Gea, Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Fred and Diogo Dalot, whose contract expires next summer but with options to extend until 2024.
Ten Hag, according to the “Telegraph”, asked these players not to refuse any new contracts, indicating that he wants to know the players’ capabilities more during the next six weeks until the season stopped due to the World Cup, in order to decide who will remain in the club.
“The Telegraph” quoted an informed source in the English club as saying that Tenag wants to assess the level of adaptation of these players to the pressures and challenges imposed by the upcoming matches, which will determine who will remain in the ranks of United.
