The English club Manchester United announced on Friday February 25 that it had “revoked” its sponsorship contract with the Russian airline Aeroflot, following the invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops. On Thursday, the British government imposed a set of sanctions on Moscow, including banning the airline from British airspace. Moscow then banned all UK-linked aircraft from entering its airspace, including transit flights. Aeroflot had been the official sponsor of the Mancunian club since 2013.
