Manchester United raises its head by offering itself Liverpool

After starting their championship with two defeats, Manchester United regained their colors by winning 2-1 in the clash once morest their rival Liverpool on behalf of the third day of the English football championship on Monday.

With Cristiano Ronaldo and captain Harry Maguire on the bench following last Saturday’s debacle at Brentford (4-0), Manchester United, who introduced new signing Casemiro before kick-off, took charge following 16 minutes with Jadon Sancho.

After the break, Marcus Rashford took advantage of a well-run counter to give the Red Devils a two-goal lead. At the end of the game, Mohamed Salah reduced the gap (81st) but Liverpool failed to equalise. The ‘Reds’ have therefore still not won this season.

In the standings, Manchester United is 14th with 3 points while Liverpool is 16th with 2 points.
