Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City star, expressed his happiness with the exciting victory over host Newcastle United (3-2), at St. James Park, in the 21st round of the English Premier League.

De Bruyne led Manchester City to turn the tables on Newcastle United following they were trailing in the score (2-1), but substitute De Bruyne scored the equalizer and provided an assist for Oscar Pope to score the winning goal.

De Bruyne said in statements published by the BBC following the match: “I suffered a major injury, and I needed time… I think it was more willpower than anything else.”

De Bruyne added: “What happened was crazy. I know that I am not able to play for 90 minutes right now… but at the moment, I can play for 30 minutes… I feel that way.”

Regarding his assist for the winning goal, De Bruyne said: “It is great for Oscar Pope to score a goal. The pass was good, but the running on his part was amazing. It was a wonderful behaviour. I looked at him running. If he did not run, I would not be able to pass the ball.”

The victory raised Manchester City’s score to 43 points in the English Premier League, behind leaders Liverpool with 45 points, while Newcastle United’s score froze at 29 points in tenth place.
