Manchester City revealed the statue of the legendary team player and attacking star Sergio Aguero in his permanent location at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, coinciding with the club’s celebrations of the tenth anniversary of achieving the English Premier League title and the legendary goal scored at the moment 93:20.
Sharjah 24- Asaad Khalil:
Manchester City pulled the curtain down today, Friday, on the statue dedicated to Argentine striker Sergio Aguero, the English club’s all-time top scorer.
This came on the anniversary of winning the league for the third time in the club’s history, with a goal scored by Aguero in stoppage time.
The statue is located on the eastern side of the “Etihad” stadium, to join the statues of Kompany and Silva, and the statue was executed by plastic artist Andy Scott, using thousands of welded pieces of galvanized steel.
“The permanent statue of Aguero commemorates his exceptional contribution to the success of the club and, in particular, his pivotal role at what is one of the finest moments in sporting history and will be remembered forever by Manchester City fans around the world,” the club said in a statement.
Ten years ago, Manchester City won the English Premier League following a long wait of nearly 40 years.
Manchester City needed to score two goals during the injury time of the Queens Park Rangers match to officially crown the Premier League, while Manchester United was waiting for the match to end at the “Etihad” stadium for the title to go to its treasury.
But Dzeko and Aguero had a different opinion and scored two goals in stoppage time, so the title went to the “Citizens” treasury with a goal difference.
