Manchester City are crowned champions of the Community Shield

The Premier League and FA Cup champions played the Community Shield final today in a Manchester derby.

Guardiola and City broke a three-match winless streak by beating Manchester United in a 7-6 shootout.

After 120 minutes with the score at 1-1, where the football level was equal, the stars like Phoden and De Bruyne for City; Casemiro and McTominay kept order from the midfield.

In the shoot-out, Bernardo, with the first shot for the ‘Sky Blues’, revived the ghosts of the semi-final against Real Madrid last year and came up against André Onana, before Jadon Sancho, with the fourth, also missed, just as he did three years ago on this same stage in the Euro final.

And with his fifteenth shot he sent the ball over the bar. Manuel Akanji did not miss the next one and City, after three consecutive disappointments in this competition against Leicester City, Liverpool and Arsenal, won the Community Shield.
