“When I checked my stock of drinks, many bottles seemed to have disappeared”, explains Anthony Van Allemeersch, manager of Bar Toine in Blankenberge, to our colleagues from the newspaper “Het Belang van Limburg”.
“I immediately checked the store’s CCTV footage. It turned out that two men had broken in earlier that night.”
The images show that the thieves are far from being professionals. They first looked at the street, hesitated, then decided to do it anyway.
In total, more or less 25 bottles were missing the next morning. If Anthony is furious, he thinks that the thieves were not very “smart”. “They are on display for long minutes, both in the store and on the street… They must not be very smart,” says the manager.
