Crazy but sad story reported to us by our colleagues from France Bleu, this Saturday. A manager of an amateur football club in Marseille has been violently attacked by a father, frustrated that his 11-year-old son has not been retained in the team for next season.
Indeed, at the end of the day of detection of young players in the AS Vivaux club, the father pursued the coach who was going to his car in the parking lot to attack him. The trainer testified: “He comes up behind me, headbutts me in the arch, and a butcher’s knife on the wrist,” he explains. “Take my son!” the father shouts to him.
Children witnessed this scene, which saddens the coach all the more. “When I saw their look, the fear in their eyes, it cut my legs. I was shocked to think that people are capable of doing that for football”.
Cut in the arm, the coach filed a complaint, but the incident did not disgust him with the sport: he wants to continue to train young people. “It made me want to be with them even more,” he said.
