At the end of a meeting of political actors this Thursday, November 23, 2023, in Conakry, the president of the Party of Hope for National Development (PEDN), reacted to the call recently launched by the vice-president of the UFDG, Fodé Oussou Fofana, inviting Guinean political leaders to move towards unity of action once morest the junta in power.
Lansana Kouyaté says she is in favor of this approach while hoping that it will help to calm the current socio-political situation in the country: “I have read Fodé Oussou, I say that we agree, the outstretched hand of Fodé Oussou I think that he must know the fundamentals. The fundamentals are participation in a peaceful transition. Will they agree on this? In any case, this is our wish. This is the position of all the parties that are there, organized in coalition. »
Referring to the relocation of the dialogue framework to a foreign country, the leader of the PEDN affirms that this is not feasible: “When they say that we need to relocalize the dialogue, in any case we did not do it at the beginning and we won’t do it now. I have participated in many dialogues relocated outside, but this is specifically the case of dialogues in a divided country. There are 245,857 square kilometers there, with just one state. Today, there is a transition, which is assuming its responsibilities. Are we going to insult the exclusivity of our borders when until now we are not divided? », asks the former Prime Minister.
