Man won over $100,000 in lottery after using TV strategy

(CNN) — Not everything you see on TV is real, until it is…

A South Carolina man won more than $100,000 following trying a lottery strategy he says was inspired by an episode of TLC’s “Lottery Changed My Life.”

The strategy was to spend $25 a week for three months playing the lottery. During the first week, he made $500. But in the seventh week, he took home $100,000.

The jackpot hit him on May 28 while playing a Powerball ticket. At first he thought he had won $50,000 by matching two numbers, but luckily his wife double-checked and helped him confirm that he had matched four of the five numbers on the white ball and the red Powerball, which increased the prize .

“I didn’t even know how to play Powerball,” the lucky winner told officials at the South Carolina Lottery.

After his consecutive victories, he bought a new car. In addition, you continue with your plan and will continue to buy lottery tickets during the three-month period.

The odds of matching four numbers from the white ball and the red Powerball are 1 in 913,129, according to the South Carolina Lottery site.

Who knows? I may win once more.
