Man who killed a Cunaguaro was arrested in Sifontes

He will be prosecuted for illegal hunting of endangered species. They placed him in an indigenous community.

A commission of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) carried out the arrest of a man who would have killed a Cunaguaro.

Soldiers found the person involved in the San Antonio de Roscio indigenous community, in the Sifontes municipality.

This was reported this Thursday from the GNB.

It transpired that the authorities began the search following the complaint spread through social networks.

In the public complaint they made reference to the fact that the citizen had murdered a cunaguaro also known as a butterfly tiger.

One of the species of wildlife that is in danger of extinction.

The person involved will be prosecuted for the illegal hunting of endangered species.

They found animal skin

During the procedure, the military retained several pieces of evidence that incriminate the detainee.

The skin of the animal is part of what was seized.

To that they add a .12 mm shotgun with no visible serial numbers along with two cartridges of the same caliber.

Prosecutor Appointment

This Tuesday, the Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, reported on the appointment of the Third Prosecutor’s Office with competence in the environment for investigations and sanctions once morest a couple, also for the murder of a Cunaguaro.

Through his Twitter account, Saab mentioned that the case would have been registered in the General Manuel Cedeño municipality.

In the images published by the prosecutor, the couple was seen with the dead animal.

At the closing of the note, the authorities had not confirmed if it would be the same case.

In the next few hours the man will appear before a Court in Control Functions.
