The scene was impressive for the many commuters who went to the De Brouckère metro station at a busy time at the end of the day. An individual, visibly mentally ill, hit his head violently once morest a wall to the point of losing a lot of blood.
Several people called the 112 emergency center and an ambulance went to the scene. The paramedics tried to approach the individual, who presented a danger to himself, but they were unable to control him. The police were then called. A patrol intervened, set up a security perimeter and was able to help the paramedics take care of the injured man.
