Man Utd: Ronaldo warned by the police

During Manchester United’s defeat at Everton (0-1) in the Premier League on April 9, striker Cristiano Ronaldo (37, 2 Premier League games this season) lost his temper when he broke the phone of a Toffees fan as he leaves Goodison Park (see here). Despite the Portuguese international’s apologies, the police decided to open an investigation.

This is now closed, as Merseyside law enforcement announced on Wednesday: “We can confirm that a 37-year-old man (CR7, editor’s note) presented himself voluntarily and was questioned on bail in connection with an allegation of assault and criminal damage. The allegation relates to an incident following the Everton-Manchester United football match at Goodison Park on Saturday April 9, 2022. The case was treated as a conditional warning. The matter is now closed,” the statement read.

Simple warning therefore for the fivefold Ballon d’Or.
