FARGO — A man was taken to the hospital early Friday, Dec. 22, following crews found him inside a south Fargo apartment that was on fire.
Firefighters were dispatched to the apartment at 1469 35th St. S. at 1:03 a.m. following reports of a fire alarm and smoke in the building, the Fargo Fire Department said in a release. Upon arrival, crews found a small fire in the kitchen of a second-floor apartment.
Crews found the man inside the apartment; he was the only person in the unit, according to the release. He was taken by ambulance to a local medical facility, and his injuries and condition are unknown.
The fire was extinguished and confined to the kitchen, causing an estimated $35,000 in damage, the release said. It is still under investigation.
Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release regarding a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
