Man Sentenced to 57 Years in Prison for Repeatedly Abusing Minor: Latest Cases of Sexual Abuse in El Salvador

For abusing a minor “repeatedly” and showing her pornographic videos, a man was sentenced to 57 years in prison in El Salvador.

The convicted person is Raúl Alberto Méndez Flores, who in 2017 abused a minor who was 10 years old at the time “taking advantage of the fact that the mother was not at home,” explained the Attorney General of El Salvador in a publication on his X account. (formerly Twitter).

The prosecuting body managed to have this man convicted of the crimes of rape of a minor and continuous aggravated incompetence, a charge for which he was sentenced to 26 years and 8 months in prison; continuous aggravated sexual assault on a minor or incapable (26 years and 4 months in prison) and pornography (4 years in prison).

But this sentence is not the only one that the Salvadoran Prosecutor’s Office of the Government of Nayib Bukele has achieved for sexual abuse in the last hours. Francinet Linares, who assaulted and sexually abused a stepdaughter in 2019, was sentenced to 36 years in prison.

“Linares was married to the victim’s mother and when they separated, the minor was in his care for a while and that is when the abuse began,” the entity explained.

And he added that when the girl returned to her mother, “she told everything that had happened and they filed the complaint.”

Likewise, the Prosecutor’s Office of the Central American country handed over to the United States authorities this Thursday Wilfredo Antonio Calderón Vaquero, accused of sexual crimes with a minor under the age of 6 in that country in 2018.

Before being handed over for extradition, the Salvadoran authorities verified that Calderón had no pending proceedings with the country’s justice so that they could send him to answer for his crimes before the Crawford County Court, in Arkansas.
