The Lucerne public prosecutor’s office recently convicted a man, now 21, of assault, multiple abuse of a telecommunications installation and insults, multiple threats and coercion, fraud and money laundering. His total financial penalty amounts to 4150 francs.
The accused had an on-off relationship with a woman for two and a half years. In December 2022, she broke up with him for good. The man, who had already physically assaulted her (kicking and slapping) in November, began threatening her.
Facebook scam
It started on WhatsApp where he was sending her messages such as “Do you want another kick like last time?” or “I will beat you tomorrow in the hospital”. He also repeatedly threatened via messages to torture and kill her. When they were a couple, the victim and her attacker had made several videos during their sexual intercourse. The man used this by threatening his ex to forward these videos to all his friends if she no longer answered his calls. He also said that he would go to his workplace every day.
But that’s not all. The individual was also convicted of fraud. He was selling cell phones on Facebook Marketplace but never delivering them. Between May and July 2022, he thus recovered 2609 francs. Multiple violations of the narcotics law were also noted.
