The First Court of Control of the state of Anzoátegui sentenced a man to 13 years in prison following admitting his responsibility in the sexual act once morest a 13-year-old teenager, his girlfriend’s daughter.
According to the Public Ministry’s account on its website, the events occurred on November 20, 2023 in the Cruz de Belén sector, located in the Bruzual municipality.
That day the girl was alone in her residence when the 25-year-old young man arrived, and under manipulation he took her away. When the victim’s mother noticed her absence, she went to her partner’s residence to find out if she knew anything and the man denied it.
Immediately, the woman went to the Bolivarian National Police headquarters in the Bruzual municipality to file a report regarding her disappearance.
After investigative work coordinated by the Public Ministry, it was confirmed that the victim was hiding in the subject’s house, which is why the man was arrested that same day and placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry.
In the preliminary hearing, the 23rd Prosecutor’s Office of Anzoátegui ratified the accusation once morest the man for committing the crime of a sexual act with a particularly vulnerable victim.
Once the accused’s admission of facts was heard, the 1st Control Court in that eastern entity handed down a sentence and ordered him to serve his sentence in the Barcelona Agroproductive Detention Center.
