A driver parked his burning vehicle at a gas station near Sindelfingen on the way to Stuttgart Airport and left it behind. Now the police are investigating.

Ironically, a driver left his burning car at a gas station on Sunday. But instead of calling the fire brigade or trying to put it out, the man took a taxi from the petrol station near Sindelfingen (Böblingen district) to Stuttgart Airport.

Surveillance camera films what is happening

According to the police, the recordings of a surveillance camera at the Sindelfingen Forest motorway service station show how the man parked his smoking car around 1 p.m. regarding five meters in front of the petrol pumps.

The man and his three passengers then took a taxi towards Stuttgart Airport, the police said on Monday.

Passers-by extinguish the fire

Passers-by managed to extinguish the burning car before the fire department arrived. The family still got the plane abroad. The police and public prosecutor’s office started the investigation. At first she had not been able to establish contact with the family.
