Man, known for domestic violence, stabs wife to death in Gesves

A drama unfolded in Gesves, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday. A 44-year-old man from Geneva fatally stabbed his forty-year-old wife following a domestic dispute. It was he who, around midnight, called for help to confess to this femicide, reveal our confreres of the Future.

On the spot, ambulances and the local Arches police arrived at the couple’s home, rue les Fonds. They might only note the death of the victim who succumbed to his injuries. This would be a scene of domestic violence gone wrong.

The man is not unknown to justice and has already been convicted of domestic violence, already on his wife and victim. “The alleged perpetrator was convicted in March 2021 on appeal for acts of domestic violence once morest the same victim,” confirms the prosecutor’s office of Namur.

Injured, the Gesvois was taken to the hospital. His condition then prevented him from being heard. However, he was deprived of his liberty.

The federal judicial police took over the case and dispatched the scientific laboratory. The prosecutor’s office has requested that an arrest warrant be issued for murder. The alleged perpetrator will be heard by an investigating judge on Thursday. An autopsy must also be performed.

The couple’s three-year-old child was taken in by family members.
