A man in his 40s was arrested by police following being hit with a Taser gun in a residential area.
Gyeonggi Siheung Police Station announced on the 25th that it had arrested a man in his 40s on charges of obstructing the execution of special duties. Mr. A is accused of wielding a weapon by a police officer dispatched from a multi-family housing area in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung-si at around 9:11 pm on the same day.
He is said to have roamed around his house and posed a threat to citizens and others. The police, who were dispatched following receiving the report, scuffled with Mr. A for regarding 50 minutes, then fired a Taser gun and arrested him as a red-handed criminal at around 10:00 pm on the same day. During this process, Mr. A also brandished a weapon at the police several times, but it was reported that no one was injured. At the time of arrest, it was found that he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Meanwhile, the city of Siheung sent a disaster text message at around 10:00 p.m., saying, “Nearby residents please refrain from going out due to the firearms riot.” 6 minutes later, it was announced that the arrest of the firearms riot had been completed.
