Thursday afternoon, a man in the asylum procedure was arrested while he was cycling on the highway. He said he took the bus to go to Germany but took the wrong line and ended up in Malmedy.
The latter, determined to go to Germany, had, according to him, borrowed a bicycle from a store in the city. In reality, he stole a bicycle for 8,000 euros.
Arrested by the police on the motorway near Verviers, the man was deprived of his liberty and referred to the Liège public prosecutor’s office for theft.
