Man from New Jersey Arrested for Speeding at 108 mph in Concord, NH

CONCORD, NH — A man from New Jersey was arrested following being accused of driving 108 mph in a 55 zone.

Around noon on Oct. 15, a state trooper sergeant spotted a 2021 BMW with a New Jersey plate driving east on Route 2 in Randolph. The trooper tagged the vehicle driving nearly double the allowed speed limit, Amber Lagace, the public information officer for state police, said.

The driver, Naga Venkata Nitesh Kumar Bangaru, 28, of Parsippany, NJ, was arrested and charged with reckless operation. He was released on personal recognizance and is due in Berlin District Court at a later date.

The New Hampshire Department of Safety received confirmation on Tuesday that the state had received $1 million in federal funding to combat illegal sales and supplies of opioids.

The Anti-Heroin Task Force funds were provided by the U.S. DOJ’s community-oriented policing services program. The money will be used to combat narcotics sales in the state. The funds were secured by U.S. Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan, and U.S. Reps. Ann McLane Kuster and Chris Pappas.
