Man falls down stairs unconscious and Apple Watch calls for help

In a recent incident in ontario (not Canada), to Fall Detection of the Apple Watch Series 8 saved the life of a man named Alexander Laserson. After falling down a ladder and hitting his head, he was unable to respond to the notification when his watch kicked in.

The function, as we well know, automatically calls emergency services and notifies user-designated contacts when it detects a serious fall followed by a lack of movement for a certain period.

In that case, Laserson’s Apple Watch promptly called emergency services and notified his wife of the incident. Fortunately, she found it shortly following the fall and was able to communicate with first responders through the smart watch.

Laerson was quickly taken to the emergency room in an ambulance, where he received seven stitches in his wounds. To the AppleInsider, the user expressed gratitude for the technology: “Without the Apple Watch, it is possible that I would be dead now. The technology works.”

While Fall Detection is automatically turned on for users aged 55 and over, it’s worth remembering that it can also be turned on manually in Settings for those who want to benefit from this feature — model required Series 4 or higher.

Finally, as technology continues to evolve, innovations like Fall Detection have helped to enhance personal safety, giving users an added layer of security and peace of mind in their lives.

Good to know that one more person is fine thanks to the Apple Watch! ????
