A 45-year-old fakes his own death and makes an appearance at his funeral in Belgium, only to see who really cares regarding him.
David Baerten arranged his false death declaration with his wife and children. For them, it was only a bad joke to see who was sincere with him and was going to show up at the funeral, according to information from Sky News.
One of his children delivered a touching message on social networks to announce the death of his loving father.
“Rest in peace Dad. I’ll never stop thinking regarding you… Why is life so unfair? Why you? You had your whole life ahead of you. I love you,” she wrote.
Several relatives showed up at Mr. Baerten’s funeral, near Liège, Belgium. All were there to commemorate David’s passing, until a helicopter caught their eye.
In a video posted on TikTok, we see David Baerten getting out of the helicopter, like a star. Some people threw themselves on his neck, while others remained quite confused.
For Mr. Baerten, it was a way of seeing how his extended family would react. This one did not feel loved, he wanted to initiate a reaction.
“I wanted to give them a lesson in life, to show them that you don’t have to wait for someone to die to realize that you want to see them,” he told The Times media.
Mr. Baerten’s action has been strongly denounced on social networks, while many do not understand how one can inflict such harm on those close to them.
