Man drugged and killed his four children for revenge

The children were found dead in the home with stab wounds to the front and rear, when relatives called police.

A man killed his four children with a pillow and a knife to allegedly “revenge” on his partner after she left him. The bodies of the victims, ages three, six, eight and 11, were found Tuesday at the suspect’s home in Alvorada, south of Brazil.

Police arrested the 28-year-old man at a hotel in neighboring Porto Alegre early the next day. He told police he had given the boys “tea” to calm them down, before suffocating them with a pillow and stabbing them to death.

The children were found dead in the home with stab wounds to the front and rear, when relatives called police.

The parricide was taken to the police station, where he exercised his right to remain silent. The victims’ maternal grandmother believes she killed the children to “get back” at her mother, from whom she had recently separated.

Idenise Martins da Silva told local media: ‘He had already attacked my daughter. Her relationship was over forever, but she did it to get to my daughter, I’m sure, in the worst possible way. She is a coward”.

He had been given a restraining order after assaulting his partner before the murders, local media confirmed.

Deputy Edimar Machado, responsible for the investigations, said: “We will also try to analyze the cell phone that they assured him to see if he had any circumstances in his cell phone with reference to the crime, the threats he made against him.” the children’s mother, to gather more evidence of her participation in the crime.

Police say the couple had been together for 12 years but broke up after Lemos assaulted his partner in September. The 24-year-old victim had reported the incident to the police and had obtained a restraining order against her.

Relatives said that at the time of the killings, the children had stayed with their father and were due to return to their mother in the coming days. Police said Lemos had sent threatening messages to his ex-partner shortly before the time the killings are believed to have taken place.
