A person lost his life on Sunday while bathing in Lake Bütgenbach, German-language media reported on Monday.
Three men who were swimming found themselves in difficulty regarding twenty meters from Venntastic beach. Kayakers who witnessed the accident immediately informed the Venntastic Beach team and the lifeguards intervened quickly.
The three men were brought back to shore where one of them had to be resuscitated before being picked up by the German medical helicopter. The man, living in Eeklo, in East Flanders, ultimately did not survive, indicate our German-speaking colleagues.
