A 56-year-old man from Kortrijk was bitten to death by his dog on Tuesday evening, following suffering an epileptic seizure. “The dog had already exhibited very aggressive behavior following previous attacks,” the Vlas police zone said on Thursday.
The victim’s lifeless body was found Tuesday evening in his home on Emmanuel Viérinwandeling in Kortrijk. “The man had an epileptic seizure and his dog then reacted very aggressively,” explained Thomas Detavernier from the Vlas police zone. The dog in question is a Stafford breed. “The animal bit him on the carotid artery. The dog had already had very aggressive reactions during previous epileptic attacks of its owner.”
The victim’s family decided to have the dog euthanized.
