A man was arrested in Pennsylvania because he allegedly broke into a family home four times in the last 4 months strictly to watch a nine-year-old girl sleep, reports the American channel WPVI.
The girl’s mother, Tiffany Szabara, said she was particularly concerned to see this stranger enter her house in the middle of the night and head upstairs, then enter her daughter’s bedroom and observe her as she slept.
The individual’s last disturbing visit occurred on Christmas Eve. The man was filmed by a surveillance camera installed by Ms. Szabara in the kitchen.
Three days later, Coatesville authorities announced that the suspect, Jefferson Mejia Gonzalez, surrendered to police following a warrant was issued for his arrest.
He was notably accused of burglary, breaking and entering and harassment.
According to Tiffany Szabara, the individual entered the house for the first time in September, taking advantage of the fact that the lock on the back door was not working properly.
The next two times, the door was accidentally left unlocked. As for the man’s last “visit”, he apparently came through a window.
Each time, he enters the house, climbs the stairs and goes straight to the little girl’s room.
“One time there was money on the counter and he didn’t touch it. He just goes into my daughter’s room,” says Ms. Szabara.
The latter has also added new locks to its doors, in addition to installing several surveillance cameras.
“If this man is determined to come see my daughter, what else might he want to do?” the mother worries.
She also indicated that once, the man invited the little girl to follow him, but she refused and he did not force her to accompany him.
“My nine-year-old daughter then told him: ‘Don’t flatter my dog. Get out of my house.’ She didn’t scream. Instead, she followed him down the stairs to make sure he left,” says Tiffany Szabara.
