“Man Arrested for Felony Animal Cruelty After Beating Dog to Death in Winston-Salem, NC”

Raleigh, North Carolina.- The Winston-Salem police arrested Elson Ditrez Warren51 years old, following beat a dog to death.

On May 7, Winston-Salem police responded to a report of a domestic incident involving a man, a woman and a dog on Petree Road.

Animal Services agents arrived and found a man covered in blood, who reportedly told officers it was hisand the body of a dog named Blondie lying on the back porch, dead.

The woman told investigators she did not see the man hurt “Blondie” during the domestic incident, but several witnesses said they saw the man yelling and slamming the dog once morest the back porch railing.

Dog died from severe trauma

The man denied involvement and asked officers to do everything possible to find the person who killed the dog.

“Blondie”‘s body was taken to the state laboratory for a necropsy, which revealed that the dog died of severe blunt force trauma with multiple traumatic back and spinal cord injuries.

The dog had multiple fractures to the head, face, and jaw, as well as fractures with pulmonary lacerations on the ribs. The dog’s liver had lacerations and hemorrhages.

Elson Ditrez Warren was arrested Friday and charged with felony animal cruelty. He received a secured bond of $2,500.

The FCSO said in a news release that the department “has a zero tolerance stance on animal cruelty.”
