Man allegedly murdered a woman and then abandoned the body in Totonicapán
A man who was released from prison a few months ago was arrested in Totonicapán and accused of femicide.

Investigators from the National Civil Police (PNC) reported this Wednesday, July 24, the capture of Francisco “N”, 36 years old.
The suspect was arrested in zone 3 of Totonicapán and charged with the crime of femicide and rape.
According to investigations, on July 17, he allegedly sexually abused a 46-year-old woman in the village of Chipuac, Totonicapán.
He then allegedly murdered the victim and abandoned the body in a mountainous area.
Agents raided the home of the alleged offender in the aforementioned village, where they found clothing with blood stains that were believed to have belonged to the victim.
In addition, the detainee has two previous convictions for robbery and murder in 2010, when he was sentenced to 14 years in prison and was released in January 2024.
Investigators are continuing their investigation to gather more clues about what happened.
