Man accused of murder of his partner found in the trunk of a car in Mixco sent to trial

Julio César Miranda Rodríguez was sent to trial for the crime of femicide, the Public Ministry (MP) reported.
According to the investigation, on March 13, 2024, Miranda Rodríguez physically assaulted her partner until she died.
He then put the body in the trunk of the vehicle they were driving and left it parked on a public road.
On March 15, the car was inspected and authorities located the victim’s body.
The evidence against the suspect has been presented by the Office of the Prosecutor for the Crime of Femicide, while the legal process is being handled by the Second Multi-Personal Court of First Instance for Crimes of Femicide and other forms of Violence against Women and Sexual Violence in Guatemala.
The body of Mirna Nohemí Pérez was found in the trunk of a car in zone 10 of Mixco, Guatemala, according to authorities.
Miranda Rodríguez was arrested after he tried to flee and hid in a septic tank in a house on 14th Avenue and 5th Street in the Carabanchel neighborhood, zone 11 of the capital.
The victim died from head trauma, according to the report from the National Institute of Forensic Sciences.
