Now the new emergency doctor location of the Malteser Hilfsdienst at Rathausplatz 7/2 in Bad Herrenalb also has its divine blessing.

As part of an official inauguration ceremony, deaconess Virginia Klumpp and the representative of the Catholic parish Matthias Weingärtner not only spoke regarding the importance of the new facility, but also asked for blessings for the employees, the building and the associated vehicle in a joint prayer.

Her story of the merciful rescuer was followed by intercession for colleagues from the DRK, police and fire brigade and the clinic association. “The Maltese cross points to Christ,” explained Klumpp. Around 31,000 people are currently working for the Malteser, doing good for people with a wide variety of talents. She thanked everyone involved who put themselves at the service of the organization.

In keeping with the festive setting, numerous guests of honor – including the Mayor of Bad Herrenalb Klaus Hoffmann and Malteser Managing Director Klaus Weber – also had the sun in front of the newly furnished premises. They house a meeting room, office, storage room and a small kitchen.

As a good spirit in the background, Jessica Koch took care of the guests at the inauguration at the Old Kurhaus.

A total of ten full-time employees (five paramedics and five emergency doctors) will in future mann the emergency doctor location on a 24-hour basis all year round.

“The new location not only opened the way to the Calw district for the Malteser relief service, which cooperates with the German Red Cross, it primarily represents an improvement in the medical situation,” explained Klaus Weber.

The Malteser country manager rated the new location as a reassuring signal for high-quality emergency care. This will strengthen the rescue service in rural areas, which is of great importance, not least in view of the many older guests who come to the region.

“I think we’ve found a good solution for everyone involved,” said Mayor Hoffmann, assessing the construction work at the new, very centrally located location.

The mayor recalled the history of Bad Herrenalb, which began here in 1149 with the founding of a monastery by Cistercian monks at the site. And he concluded his words of welcome by passing on the congratulations of the CDU member of parliament Thomas Blenke plus many good wishes for the challenges ahead.
