DELCOURT EDITIONS
Mimmo dreams of rock. His guitar in hand, he aspires to a more exciting life than the one to which he seems condemned, in a poor village in southern Italy which offers few prospects for the young people who live there. The casting of a radio-hook show taking place near his home might serve as a springboard for this 15-year-old kid, more gifted with his guitar than with girls. Will the group he hastily reforms with three friends allow him to force destiny?

DELCOURT EDITIONS
Unexpected and emotional response by Alfred in “Maltempo”, a dramatic comedy which superbly closes his transalpine trilogy started with “Come prima” in 2013 and continued with “Senso” four years ago. So many albums where the beauty of the line and the coloring serves a narrative with finesse, rich in characters worked in depth.
Alfred mixes memories, smells, sounds and lights of what he calls his “affective Italy”.
Mimmo is the graphic alter ego of the author, Italian of origin, like his hero. As a teenager, he also hoped to be able to make a living from his passion, in this case drawing. Likewise, he projects himself into each of the other protagonists of his rock group, offering them a sensitivity, ambiguities and fantasies that he has been able to claim during his existence.

DELCOURT EDITIONS
Digging through his numerous notebooks, where he daily notes reflections, dreams, scenes seen or heard, Alfred gropes forward, once once more mixing memories, smells, sounds and lights of what he calls his “affective Italy”. Very personal, his working method is akin to improvisation, a perilous balancing act between memories, experience and fiction. Treated in hospital due to severe Covid, he repeated the scenario of “Maltempo” out loud to himself countless times, regularly adding details to his story.

DELCOURT EDITIONS
In the latter, as in “Senso” and “Come prima”, he relies on intimate material which involves family, fatherhood, the unexpected which turns a life upside down, desire, everything that carries, but also which paralyzes. We remain under the spell.
