Bengaluru: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi following withdrawing Rs 2000 notes. Kharge alleged that whenever Modi visited Japan, notes were banned. The allegation was made at the swearing-in ceremony of the Siddaramaiah government in Karnataka.
He added that this is another demonetisation to put the people in crisis and said that the Prime Minister does not know whether demonetisation will bring good or loss to the country.
Modi has issued yet another order. He has banned notes whenever he has been to Japan. Last time I went to Japan, the 1000 rupee note was banned. This time when he went to Japan, two thousand rupee notes were banned’- Kharge alleged.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently in Japan to attend the G-7 Summit. Last night, RBI withdrew Rs 2000 notes. Ordered. RBI has clarified that the notes can be exchanged till September 30. Until then the notes will continue to be legally valid. Officials also informed that there is no hindrance in using the current 2000 notes.
