A 3-month PAUSE from the launch of their latest album, Maliq & D’Essentials announced that they are ready to tour the album Can Machines Fall In Love? (CMFIL?) during October-December 2024 in Indonesia and Malaysia.

The music tour managed by Jagjag Studio and Northstar Entertainment also received direct support from Warner Music Indonesia as the music label that houses Maliq & D’Essentials.

The band, which was founded on May 15, 2002, will play a set of the album CMFIL? in the spirit of Madness In Every City!.

Jagjag Studio Co-Founder Sarah Deshita enthusiastically welcomed the plan to implement this tour.

“In terms of experience, it will revolve around the new album and also the development that has been done by Maliq & D’Essentials for the past year after the 20th Anniversary Concert last year. Now it’s D’Essentials’ turn in other cities and of course friends in Jakarta are also welcome to come to the nearest city.”

The CMFIL album tour? is not just a promotional event for new songs on Maliq & D’Essentials’ latest album, but also the first moment for Angga Puradiredja, Indah Wisnuwardhana, Widi Puradiredja, Jawa, Lale, and Ilman Ibrahim to go on tour and meet new listeners who have increased in number in the last 2 years.

“This is Maliq & D’Essentials’ first tour in 22 years of work. Previously, we often went to various regions but not for album tours. This is truly the first time Maliq & D’Essentials have done an album tour to several cities in the form of a special concert. The duration of the gig is also very different. Usually we play for 1 hour, this might be around 2 hours more, performing more than 20 songs, special arrangements complete with visual packaging and lighting. What is certain is that this concept has never been presented in the cities that we usually visit,” said Maliq & D’Essentials drummer Widi Puradiredja.

Widi emphasized that all songs on the CMFIL? album will be performed live while still including material from the band’s previous albums. This is done so that the concert runs dynamically, because not everyone necessarily knows and memorizes all of Maliq & D’Essentials’ new songs.

Warner Music Indonesia Country Managing Director Triari Senawirawan said the CMFIL? tour is not just about singing viral songs like Aduh and Kita Bikin Romantis. More than that, this tour was held so that Maliq & D’Essentials could interact directly with fans to celebrate their success during their work for more than the last 2 decades.

“Hopefully this tour will be a huge success in all the cities that have been scheduled. If the response from fans is positive, we will definitely think about adding other cities in the future. The point is, we really want to bring Maliq & D’Essentials’ music to more places and make their live experience enjoyable for more people throughout Indonesia,” explained Triari.

Tickets for the MALIQ & D’Essentials tour will go on sale on September 3, 2024. Ticket purchases on September 3 and 4 are open exclusively to BCA customers. Ticket sales for the general public will begin on Friday, September 6, 2024.

CMFIL ticket sales? Surabaya and Bali tours are only available in 1 ticket category called Terus Terang. While Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Makassar are divided into 2 categories, Begini and Seperti.

Ticket prices range from IDR 250,000 – IDR 450,000 excluding tax and there is an option to join the Soundcheck Experience in each city later.
