Maliha Club, in cooperation with the Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Gulf States, organized a workshop to introduce the reading festival “I am an athlete.. I am reading”, which will be organized at the beginning of next March, within the framework of reading activities in the country and in line with the national reading plans, to achieve its goals in graduating Generations of readers and familiar with books and knowledge.
The workshop, which was held yesterday, Friday, at the headquarters of the Maliha Club, was presented by Dr. Issa Al Hammadi, Director of the Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Gulf Countries, the strategic partner of the festival, in the presence of Mohammed Sultan Al Khasoni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the club, members of the Board of Directors and representatives of sports and specialized clubs participating in the festival from the central region of the Emirate of Sharjah. This is under the umbrella of the Sharjah Sports Council.
The reading festival is held in strategic partnership with the Educational Center for the Arabic Language of the Gulf States in Sharjah, the Emirates Heritage Club, Al Qasimi Publications, the Department of Culture of the Government of Sharjah, and the Khansaheb Group, along with a number of specialized agencies, in addition to the participation of 6 clubs: Al Madam, Al Bataeh, Al Dhaid, Maliha, Sharjah Falconers Club, and the Sharjah Falconers Club. Sharjah Camel, with the expected participation of 1,500 athletes of all ages.
Muhammad Sultan Al-Khasouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Maliha Club, explained that the festival will be held at the beginning of next March at the club’s headquarters, and will witness a book exhibition, along with accompanying workshops and a competition in two categories in the field of reading for players registered in the six clubs and sports federations, and a competition in general information for clubs. Pointing out that the club raised material prizes for the winners of the competition, in addition to allocating a prize for cultural activists in clubs, a prize for the best participating club with a number of players, and a prize for the best winning club in the festival categories.
Dr. Issa Al-Hammadi, Director of the Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Gulf States, spoke at the workshop, reviewing the festival’s categories and objectives that are compatible with the Sharjah cultural project, with the aim of raising the generation of players and inviting them to read to achieve the festival’s motto “I am an athlete.. I am reading” to employ reading in the life of every player since The softness of his nails and during his participation in sports programs and various competitions, which is reflected in his behavior and giving.
