Maliha launches the “I am an athlete.. I read” initiative

Maliha Club revealed the launch of the reading festival initiative “I am an athlete.. I am reading”, which is organized by the club in cooperation with the clubs of the central region in Sharjah, during March 2023, and aims to participate in 1,500 athletes, in partnership with the Educational Center for the Arabic Language of the Gulf States in Sharjah, the Emirates Heritage Club, and publications. Al Qasimi, Khansaheb Group, and a number of specialized agencies.
This came during a press conference held by Maliha Club at its headquarters, and was attended by Mohammed Sultan Al Khasouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Club, members of the Board of Directors, Dr. Emirates Heritage, and representatives of the Central Region clubs, in which he revealed an integrated set of activities that coincide with his goals in qualifying athletes and encouraging them towards creative reading, through the activities of the Reading Festival.

The Maliha Club confirmed that the festival targets the six sports and specialized clubs in the central region of the Emirate of Sharjah, which are Al-Madam, Al-Bataeh, Al-Dhaid, Maliha, Sharjah Falconers Club and Sharjah Camel Club, with the participation of 1,500 athletes of different ages.
Muhammad Sultan Al-Khasouni said: “The reading festival, “I am an athlete, I read,” will be held on the first of next March for a period of four consecutive days, with the aim of establishing a culture of reading among the players of the six sports and specialized clubs in the central region, within the framework of the club’s keenness to converge in its efforts, to translate the directives of His Highness. His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to support athletes in the field of reading and knowledge. Organized annually under the title Knights of Culture.
He added that the festival is held at the headquarters of the Maliha Club, and targets 1,500 players from all clubs, in addition to cooperating with a number of partners to make the festival a success, which will converge with the state’s directions in supporting reading, and in March, which is the annual month of reading in the Emirates, and it is expected that it will be held annually in rotation with Central District Clubs.
Dr. Issa Saleh Al-Hammadi said: The center is pleased to participate in the cultural and sports event and to support the drafting and preparation of the competition with the setting and arbitration criteria for arbitration, in addition to providing several gifts from the different publications of the center and participating in a corner in the exhibition and organizing a workshop in creative reading for athletes.
Badr Abdul Karim Al-Amiri, representative of the Emirates Heritage Club, stressed the importance of the reading festival for Maliha Club in refining the reading skills of the players, pointing out that the Emirates Heritage Club participates in the exhibition with its various publications, in addition to organizing a cultural café, and expressed his admiration for this constructive cooperation with the club to serve its reading project, which Targets players in the central region of the Emirate of Sharjah.
Fatima Al-Mansoori, Director of the Zayed Center for Studies and Research at the Emirates Heritage Club, praised the idea of ​​​​the festival and its importance in the context of early preparation for the development of its aspects, and what it seeks to serve the players. One of the goals pursued by the Emirates Heritage Club.
