The Maliha delegation will leave the country on Friday, heading to Doha, to participate in the 40th Gulf Cup Winners Club Championship, representing Emirati handball, in the competitions hosted by Al-Arabi Qatar, from February 25 to next March 5.
Maliha plays in the second group with Al-Kuwait of Kuwait, Al-Rayyan of Qatar, and Al-Shabab of Bahrain, while the first includes the home team Al-Arabi, Oman of Oman, Al-Dair Al-Bahraini, and Burgan of Kuwait.
Maliha will play its first match against Kuwait on February 26, then Al-Shabab on February 28, and its last match in the group against Al-Rayyan on March 1.
The Maliha delegation is headed by Salem Rashid Al Ketbi, club secretary, and the list includes Ibrahim Al Hammadi, team manager, Walid Abdul Kafi as coach, Ibrahim Al Amiri, assistant coach, Amr Walid, goalkeeper coach, and Khaled Hussein Fahmi Muhammad, a physical therapist, in addition to 19 players, led by Qatari Hani Kakhi, Al Gharafa player. Who was loaned to play with the team in the tournament, alongside foreigners Omar Foley, Ahmed Qasim, and a group of citizens Issa Al-Abdouli, Bilal Malallah, Hassan Ali, Salem Bilal, Ahmed Saif, Mubarak Ahmed, Ismail Faraj, Muhammad Eid, Hussein Abdullah, and Ahmed Abdullah, Sultan Hashem, Ahmed Ismail, Mubarak Abdullah, Majed Nabil, Muhammad Mal Allah, and Hamad Jassim.
On the other hand, on Friday, Al-Nasr will meet Al-Wasl at the Rashid bin Hamdan Hall in Al-Nasr Club, within the seventh round of the men’s league preliminary, while the match between Shabab Al-Ahly and Al-Ain was postponed, due to the participation of the “Knights” in the Emirati-Saudi Super Cup against Al-Khaleej in Dammam, and two matches were postponed for the Maliha team, The first is against Al-Nasr in the eighth round until March 15, and the second is against Al-Wasl in the ninth round until March 26.
On Saturday, the league matches will witness a confrontation between Al Ain and Sharjah in the Al Banafsej Hall, which is postponed from the fourth round, while Dibba Al Hisn will meet Al Jazira in Al Hosn Hall, within the seventh round of the competition.
