A powerful wildfire, dubbed the Franklin Fire, continues to tear through dry brush in the Malibu area, prompting the evacuation of around 20,000 residents as Red Flag warnings persist. The blaze erupted Thursday night, rapidly expanding and devouring homes in its path.

“It was like something out of a nightmare, the flames were moving so fast,” a resident who narrowly escaped the inferno relayed. Firefighters fought valiantly against the relentless flames, but several homes have already been lost to the inferno.
“When we arrived, flames were already engulfing structures,” a fire captain at the scene stated. “This was a residential area. Several homes have been destroyed.”
