The president of AySA, Malena Galmarini, together with the governor of the Province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, and the Minister of the Interior of the Nation, Eduardo “Wado” de Pedro, set up a secondary sewage network that will benefit a total of 3,800 inhabitants of the locality of Pablo Podestá in the Partido de Tres de Febrero. Also present at the commissioning of the work were the Minister of Infrastructure and Public Services of the PBA, Leonardo Nardini and the Vice President of AABE, Juan Debandi.

After the qualification, Malena Galmarini expressed: “The truth is that we are very happy. We were here a year and a half ago watching the start of the work. A work carried out by DIPAC, the direction of the province of Buenos Aires, with Leo Nardini as minister. Axel Kicillof made the decision to collaborate with what we are doing at AySA. From now on, the neighbors will be able to connect to an essential service such as the sewer.”

For his part, during the tour, the Minister of the Interior, “Wado” De Pedro added: “It is to value the works that have to do with the daily life of families. It seems to me that having water, having sewers, accompanying the management of Malena Galmarini, means being part of the happiness of Argentine families. The house has to have water, sewers, we already come from some governments that spent a lot on communication, on posters, saying that they were doing what they were not doing. We do not spend money on communication and we do the works, with which, I value what Malena does, her management capacity, effort, dedication. And of course, accompanying Tres de Febrero, the residents of this municipality who deserve to live better.”

During the inauguration, the authorities spoke with different families regarding the benefits of having the essential service for caring for the environment and the health of their neighbors.

Eduardo Fabre, a resident of the Pablo Podestá neighborhood, recounted: “I have lived here with my family for fifty-four years, a lifetime. We were waiting for the service for a long time, because practically once a month we called the atmospheric truck to drain the septic tank. In our economy, they represented between $6,000 and $10,000 of the family budget, which made it very difficult for us to raise this sum of money. This is why, as neighbors, we are very grateful to the current management, because having this essential service is to optimize our quality of life.”

Regarding the work, 12,454 meters of pipes and 934 home connections were installed, completing a very high percentage of coverage in the municipality. In addition, AySA has a total of 61 active works in the Partido de Tres de Febrero, divided into 32 water works and 29 sewage works.

To conclude, Galmarini emphasized: “This work symbolizes the fact of caring for the health of the residents of Pablo Podestá who already have 100% water and we need only 5% so that they have 100% sewage. On the other hand, all of February 3 will reach 97% water and 95% sewage. It’s bringing dignity to every neighbor and neighbor. It is a present State, because there is a National Government that contributes. In the Municipality, we have already invested 2,893 million pesos, so that the Partido de Tres de Febrero has 100% water and sewage.”
