The K-pop concert “Waterbom Festival” scheduled to be held in Osaka, Japan was canceled following a fatal accident occurred during rehearsal.

On the 14th, the organizers of Waterbomb announced on their official website, “A serious accident occurred during the installation of the venue in relation to the Osaka performance,” and “We will stop holding the Osaka performance.”

Originally, the ‘Water Bomb Festival’ was scheduled to be held at MICE Sports Island in Osaka City on the 15th and 16th.

Japan’s Yomiuri Shimbun reported that a male staff member was hit in the head by a 120 km/h water cannon from a water spraying device during a rehearsal for stage equipment at the Water Bomb concert hall at around 11:00 am on the same day, and was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state, but died.

The Japanese police are currently investigating the charges of negligent manslaughter on the job.

An official from the organizers said, “The event cannot be held due to a major accident.”

“We will take measures to ensure that this does not happen once more,” he said.

Kwon Eunbi, Park Jaebum, Big Bang’s Daesung, 2PM’s Nichkhun and Jun.K, and Mamamoo were scheduled to participate in this Osaka performance.
