Riyadh: A Malayali man was sentenced to seven months imprisonment and deportation in the case of taking painkiller pills from a vehicle that was handed over to him. This Malayali, who was working in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, got into a trap because he was not paying attention while using the vehicles.

The security department found these drugs during the vehicle inspection. These were painkiller pills that were regulated by the Ministry of Health for distribution in Saudi Arabia. Do not store or use unless prescribed by a physician.
Before this, the person who was driving this vehicle had bought it and stored it on doctor’s advice. This Malayali was not aware of this when the vehicle was handed over. During the inspection on the road, the concerned security department found drugs inside the vehicle.
If there was a doctor’s prescription there would be no problem. The new driver was unable to produce it. With this, he was accused and a case was registered. As the first driver had left Saudi, that grip was gone. The court then sentenced him to seven months imprisonment followed by deportation.
Social activist Siddique Tuvvoor has intervened in this matter. The investigation found that the accused was innocent. Efforts have been made to resolve the issue.
