The governor of the Province of Malanje, Marcos Alexandre Nhunga, was “irritated” with the poor quality of the works included in the scope of the PIIM, in the municipality of Quela, in the province of Malanje.
The governor did not like the material being used in some works in that municipality. In addition to the poor quality of the projects, Marcos Mhunga is also concerned regarding non-compliance with project delivery deadlines within the contractual deadlines.
The governor made it known that “he will call the reason of the contractors responsible for the works so that things can change”.
According to the local press, the official’s biggest concern is the school’s 12 classrooms with a capacity for more than 800 students. According to the assistant administrator for the technical area of Quela, Domingos do Rosário, the materials that are being used in the work, which started in 2020, do not present the quality that was expected, looking at the value of the price of the work.
The future municipal seat is under the same conditions, which is of poor quality, having presented “a huge amount of clay, which might cause the work to collapse”.
The governor of Malanje, speaking to the press at the end of the visit to the PIIM works, in the municipality of Quela, disapproved of the quality of the works, assuring that he will meet with the companies to change the course of the works.
“We can change the quality of work, because the government pays and contractors have to fulfill their obligations”, he reinforced.
