For her part, Laila Al-Hayas, Director of the Monitoring and Social Innovation Sector at the Department of Community Development, reviewed the system of prevention of drug abuse throughout the life of the individual, focusing on the causes of abuse and factors affecting the vulnerability to abuse and international prevention efforts.
For his part, Dr. Anas Mahmoud Fikri, Acting Director of the Department of Public Health and Research at the National Rehabilitation Center presented a working paper on the pathological and economic burden of psychotropic substance abuse disorders.. He pointed out that drugs affect addicts and their friends, families and communities, but the effects of addiction go far beyond that globally to interfere with it. Economic factors, for example, require us to reconsider the methods of combating them.
