Maksim Buzhansky could have been the next victim after Farion – details from law enforcement

According to information from law enforcement, it could be MP Maksym Buzhansky. Let us recall that two days after the murder of Irina Farion, the suspect began to inquire about the places of residence of MPs, in particular, pro-Russian ones.

Who could be the next victim after Farion?

Interior Minister Igor Klimenko reported that a people’s deputy was on the list of potential victims of the suspect in the murder of Irina Farion Maxim Buzhansky.

Buzhansky himself has already responded to this information. He expressed gratitude to law enforcement officers and stated that he “owes them his life.”

He also expressed hope that the investigation will be able to identify all those involved in the murder of Irina Farion.

Klimenko also explained why Irina Farion was chosen as the target. In his opinion, it was because she was “the most defenseless.”

What is known about Buzhansky

People’s Deputy from the Servant of the People party Maksym Buzhansky is known for his pro-Russian statements, views and bills.

In 2023, during a broadcast on the Kyiv 24 TV channel, he refused to switch to Ukrainian. When the host said “Glory to Ukraine”, Buzhansky replied “Yes… Glory to Ukraine”.

In addition, in 2020, Buzhansky submitted a bill to the Verkhovna Rada on the use of the Russian language in the work of parliament. He also refused to honor the memory of the heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.

What statements were made during the briefing: in brief

  • According to information from law enforcement, in order to find the suspect in Farion’s murder, 900 witnesses were interviewed, more than 9,000 photos were collected, 170 videos from surveillance cameras were reviewed, and 22 forensic examinations were conducted.

  • Law enforcement officers are checking the suspect’s connections to other crimes that could have been committed in Ukraine and abroad. They also do not rule out the involvement of Russian special services in the murder.
  • A “farewell” letter was found on the suspect in case of failure. Investigators did not show the entire contents of the note, but only part of it. In it, the guy apologizes to his dad for not telling him anything.
  • It also became known what happened to the weapon used to shoot the public figure. According to law enforcement, it has not yet been found, however, the suspect misspoke and said that he hid it.
